Spring has sprung and that means restless little ones ready to get out and explore! Here are a few of the awesome, interactive camps and workshops we have throughout the Shires of Southwestern Vermont region this April break!

 

April Break Camp – Wunderle’s Big Top – Circus! For Grades K – 12

Wunderle’s Big Top Camp is full of fun, safe circus adventures appropriate for a wide range of skill levels and ages. Equipment to be taught can include (but is not limited to) juggling scarves, balls, rings, clubs, spinning plates, devil sticks, diabolos, feathers, hula hoops, jump ropes, lassos, unicycles, rolling globes, rola bolas, and stilts. Games, human stunts, acrobatics, and clowning will be taught in addition to this equipment. Camp will take place outdoors to the extent weather permits.

Troy Wunderle is a former international performer with the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus. For the past 24 years,he has toured throughout the United States as a freelance performer and employee of Vermont’s own Circus Smirkus. His antics have been featured on the Disney channel, The Today Show, Martha Stewart, Chronicle, Fetch, Fox and Friends and Americas Funniest Home Videos. Troy is the founder of Wunderle’s Big Top Adventures and the Artistic Director of Circus Smirkus. He spent six years as Director of Clowning for the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus. Troy is a juried artist through the Vermont State Arts Council.


Spring Break Outdoor Camp

Spend April vacation at Lake Paran’s Spring Break Outdoor Camp. Outdoor education is both healing and fosters social emotional connections amongst children and their fellow campers.

Camp activities will include participating in a BioBlitz, nature exploration, meet and greet lambs, planting seeds, discovering insects, and more!

April 18th-22nd | 8:30am-3:30pm

  • Open to K-6th grade students

  • 15 spots available

  • $225 for 1st child, $200 per additional child

  • While we have a heated indoor facility, much of the camp will be held outside. Please make sure campers are equipped with proper spring gear and plenty of nourishment.

**Proof of vaccination strongly recommended or a negative COVID test within 24 hours to the start of camp. Staff is fully vaccinated.

Arts & Wellness Camp for kids - School vacations special program!

Our campers will engage with nature, art programming and learn wellness practices through our daily gratitude circle, art and mindfulness activities, reflection time and team building games.

Students will leave with a renewed sense of community, connect with friends, and leave with a strong foundation in arts and wellness practices!

The camp introduces students to the fun of experimentation in creating artwork, organic printmaking, storybook making, making site-specific work in nature, multi-media art through hands-on project based learning, and wellness principles through journaling, reflection circles, and team building activities!

April Vacation Workshops for Kids Grades 1-5

Mon Apr 18th 1:00pm - 4:00pm

Bennington Museum, 75 Main St., Bennington, VT

This is a recurring event on April 18, 19, 21, and 22, from 1:00PM to 4:00PM each day. Workshops are for children in grades 1 through 5. All materials and a light snack are included. Fees are $25/child for museum members (Family level and up), $35/child for not-yet-members. Class size is limited, and pre-registration is required.
